Since its inception in 2013, WRI has:
● Dedicated staff and equipment in 11 US states and The Bahamas to safely complete more than 200,000 acres of controlled burns that benefit people and wildlife.
● Delivered training in seven US states for controlled burning practitioners;
● Hosted practitioners from Tanzania, Bahamas, and Spain for controlled burning training in the US;
● Helped protect the Gopher Tortoise, the Karner Blue Butterfly, the Red Cockaded Woodpecker, the Clasping Warea, and other protected and endangered species.
